Case Study I:
CHALLENGE
AND INVIGORATE EXECUTIVE THINKING
IN DEVELOPMENT OF GLOBAL OPERATIONS STRATEGY
Problem:
A > $1B international corporation, seeing the
need to rethink their global operations
strategy, engaged Fulcrum to challenge and invigorate
internal thinking during the process.
Solution:
Working with the operations leadership team, defined
and prioritized 3 - 4 key strategies for each operational
unit that in total supported the business and market
plans. We verified that the strategies support overarching
goals, analyzed resources required and available
to ensure the strategies are executable, and reviewed
and modified metrics to ensure they are complementary
across units.
Result:
Top management confidence in the strategies resulted
in authorization to move forward. The wisdom of
the strategies was apparent during the 2008-09 recession,
which challenged less prepared organizations.
